About me
Rachel Arndt leads Boulder County Public Health’s Environmental Health Division as the division manager, bringing more than 16 years of broad public health experience in policy development, community engagement, program design, fundraising, and strategic planning. A champion of environmental justice, food justice, and healthy community design, she works to ensure that public health, sustainability, and environmental health priorities guide meaningful policy and systems change.
Rachel began her career with Boulder County in chronic disease prevention and food systems work, advancing innovative, equity-centered approaches that have gained statewide recognition. Her leadership, innovation, and impact across the public health landscape earned her a place among the de Beaumont Foundation’s 40 Under 40 in Public Health in 2021.
She holds a master’s degree in urban planning and a BS in environmental science and economics from the University of Michigan, and she earned her professional urban planning certification through the American Institute of Certified Planners in 2014.
